Opportunity

The School of Health and Society is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual with experience in learning disabilities nursing to deliver a range of teaching and learning opportunities and support students on our Integrated Practice, Learning Disabilities programme, which provides a dual qualification for students in nursing and social work. The programme is one of only two undergraduate programmes in the country and has an excellent reputation, consistently scoring 100% in student satisfaction. It is part of the social work suite of programmes and social work, as a subject area was voted 2nd in the country in the Guardian League Tables for 2024.

The successful candidate will design and deliver engaging teaching materials for a range of modules, with a focus on ‘real world’ learning. They will be committed to delivering an excellent student experience focused on inclusivity and exceptional student outcomes.  We are looking for an energetic colleague capable of applying their practice experience into the teaching environment to inspire, motivate and support students and support students on practice placements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver a range of teaching materials and modules, as well as setting, marking and assessing work
  • Supervise student projects, including, where appropriate post graduate students and support students on practice placements
  • Extend, transform and apply knowledge acquired from scholarship to learning, research and where appropriate external activities
  • Work with colleagues from across our School to share best practice knowledge and find opportunities to collaborate, where appropriate, to enhance the student experience
  • Promote equality and diversity for students and staff and sustain an inclusive and supportive study and work environment in accordance with University policy
