A bit about the School of Health & Society…

Our School of Health & Society is one of the largest providers of nursing, midwifery, allied health professional, Social Work and Counselling and Psychotherapy education programmes in the UK, known for our track record of collaborating with a wide range of industry partners across health and social care to produce highly skilled graduates with real work experience. We are at an interesting time in the Higher Education sector, there is significant change in terms of oversight, student expectations and changing demographics and we are trying to do things differently so that we stay ahead of these changes. So what will the role involve?

We are seeking to appoint three dynamic and forward-thinking Clinical Skills Teachers across a range of disciplines including Diagnostic Radiography, Occupational Therapy and Prosthetics & Orthotics. The post-holders will mainly contribute to the BSc (Hons) programmes in their discipline area, providing clinical skills training, supervision and assessment of our students in practical skills. They will also provide some skills sessions across other disciplines in the Directorate. The post-holder will be supported to develop their teaching through opportunities to deliver lectures, tutorials and simulation activities. They will be required to provide academic and pastoral support to our students (personal / academic tutoring). Opportunities will also be given to develop administrative and organisational skills and scholarship skills to enable you to enhance the research and scholarship profile of the Directorate.
