Here at the University of Salford, we put people at the heart of supporting our students to be their best.  Our People plan upholds 3 core goals of Wellbeing, Diversity and Performance and we are committed to creating an environment where all colleagues can shine no matter what their background, specialist skills or role within the organisation.

As such the Learning and Development team are a critical enabler and as leader of this team, your role will be to shape the strategic interventions needed to create a dynamic learning environment which embraces our values and is built on the key behaviours we are developing in our leaders. We want to develop a culture which values collaboration, creativity, and community but drives high performance alongside the wellbeing of colleagues. Your team will have a significant role in helping the University to commit to action and improvement in these areas.

Our ideal candidate will be passionate about learning and development, tenacious in their approach to influence the direction of change, and resilient in the face of challenge. We are looking for enthusiasm and innovation, whilst supporting your colleagues to realise their own potential.

We want our recruitment to reflect the diversity in our campus and as such, welcome applications from candidates who might need to work flexibly or on a part time basis.  If you wish to discuss your personal circumstances prior to submitting an application, or wish to discuss the role and our current priorities please contact Julie Woosey, Associate Director – People Strategy via a.d.graham@salford.ac.uk

Within your cover letter/personal statement it is suggested that you address how you meet the criteria listed in the person specification

What’s in it for you?

With over 200 languages spoken across Greater Manchester, we want to create an inspirational, inclusive learning and working environment, celebrating the diversity of our University community in our everyday conversations.  Our student population is already incredibly diverse and we want to ensure this is reflected across our colleague profile as well.

To help you, we have wide ranging colleague support networks, promoting awareness events throughout the year and giving you the opportunity to share your experiences with others. Our extensive faith centre facilities reflect our continuing commitment to support the student and colleague experience and the beliefs and values you bring to our community.

There is a varied benefits package available through ‘MySalford’ where you can tailor your benefits to suit your own lifestyle – everything from additional annual leave, savings on High Street shopping, travel discounts as well as health and wellbeing support. With a commitment to agile working, you can connect to work from wherever you are - our blended approach means we have the flexibility to work from home, with the expectation of time on campus when required.

However you identify, whatever your pathway has been to get here, come and join us at the University of Salford where we are all proud to belong -  watch us in action here!
