The School of Health and Society is looking to appoint an exceptional candidate to the role of Professor of Health and Social Policy Inequalities. The post holder will have a sustained and significant track record of delivering nationally/internationally recognised research and/or significant strategic experience of leadership in academia in a field such as sociology, social policy, health policy, public health, health economics, or a related discipline.  Research areas should include a focus on inequalities and might include but are not limited to evidence-based intervention and policy evaluation; social and political determinants of health, or health systems and policies. 

 

The post holder will be able to articulate a clear vision for the development of health and social policy research and innovation in the School and externally.  We are specifically looking to appoint someone who can lead on health and social policy with reference to the development of the integration agendas and practices in health and social care systems.

 

Enterprise forms a strong part of our School portfolio and we are looking for a candidate who can support and contribute to this activity.  Our work in this area focuses on several aspects including: delivery of continuous professional development, commercialisation of our facilities, turning invention into innovation from research outputs and being involved in the submission of tenders and consultancy work.
