The School of Health and Society is one of the largest specialist providers of degree-level education in the United Kingdom. We provide a diverse range of programmes from undergraduate degrees in physiotherapy and psychology, to postgraduate degrees in public health and sports injury rehabilitation.

The Directorate of Psychology and Sport continues to expand, and we are seeking additional staff to support this growth.

So what will the role involve?

We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Psychology (Cognitive) to add to our successful Psychology subject area. Applicants are expected to have a first degree in in Psychology or a related subject, preferably with GBC status with the British Psychological Society. You should have a PhD in Psychology or a closely related discipline (or be close to completion) or have substantial relevant industry/sector experience.  The post requires someone who is research active and who can play a full part in the activities of the Directorate. The appointed person will be expected to contribute to teaching and assessment in the core areas of the BPS syllabus (including Cognitive Psychology). You should have research interests relevant to Cognitive Psychology and/or other areas within the core areas of the BPS syllabus, cognitive neuroscience, mental health, addictions, media psychology, and the psychology of coercive control.
