Associate Dean Academic (Learning, Teaching and Quality), Salford Business School

The University of Salford has a rich history and an exciting future; we sit at the heart of the Northern Powerhouse, and actively engage with stakeholders across the region to embed our industry collaboration activity, ensuring our students receive the best possible experience and are fit for their future beyond university.

Salford Business School (SBS) plays a central role in delivering this strategy to:

  • provide an outstanding student experience through impactful and innovative teaching, learning and assessment underpinned by personalised support and tailored stretch;
  • be a valued partner to industry and our region through the co-creation of innovative solutions to real-world problems;
  • collaborate in interdisciplinary research and enterprise activity relating to data analytics, project management, operations management, process optimisation, disruptive business models, and the legal and ethical issues associated with AI and robotics.

Working as an Associate Dean Academic (Learning, Teaching and Quality) in SBS you will strategically develop and coordinate School activity related to teaching, learning, and assessment.  You will play a significant role in informing and setting School strategy.  Associate Deans have responsibility for operating right across the School, rather than being attached to any particular area, with autonomy and responsibility to coordinate activity with other Associate Deans across the University.

This role has been established to work strategically to deliver ambitious academic performance and business targets. You will be developing and formulating strategies to enhance the student learning experience within the School (as measured by NSS, Graduate Outcomes, Non-continuation/Retention metrics and the University’s performance in TEF), whilst ensuring adherence to the School and University’s quality procedures.

What’s in it for you?

  • Competitive salary – and excellent pension scheme
  • Generous annual leave – plus the ability to buy additional holiday days
  • Flexible, agile and hybrid working – we support a culture of both flexible and agile working, subject to business requirements
  • Professional development- a comprehensive package of personal development opportunities to help you achieve your full potential
  • Wellbeing support- dedicated services and facilities to support your mental and physical health, ranging from an Employee Assistance Programme and counselling to sports and fitness facilities, including discounted gym memberships.
  • Greater Manchester- Live and work in one of the most vibrant regions in the UK, a hot spot of digital innovation, excellent schools and colleagues, and with affordable city, suburban and rural living options to suit a wide range of lifestyle choices.
  • However you identify, whatever your pathway, come and join us at the University of Salford where we are all proud to belong!
