This is an exciting time to join The University of Salford. We have a growing student population of over 21,000 and are investing in developing new student and staff facilities. The University is pursuing a strategic plan that emphasises industry collaboration and ‘real world’ learning: education for employment, research for the real world, and exceptional partnership with business.  As an institution, we are committed to delivering an excellent student experience focused on student success and ensuring that every student we recruit has equality of opportunity, we are looking for individuals who would like to commence an academic career in Higher Education.  These are fixed term contract roles focused on delivering a new programme of academic support to undergraduate students.  In return we’ll support you through a programme of development and the opportunity to undertake a teaching qualification as relevant to higher education.

Salford Business School is at the forefront of expanding opportunity and access in higher education. With a strong focus on the student experience, we are committed to excellent, inclusive teaching that prepares our students for professional employment and inspires them to achieve their ambitions. We deliver across a range of subject areas and are currently expanding provision through new partnerships and a developing portfolio of higher and degree apprenticeships.

So what will the role involve?

The role holders will provide academic support both individualised and in groups to undergraduate students, supporting initially their transition into Higher Education and then into academic achievement and success.

What’s in it for you?

With over 200 languages spoken across Greater Manchester, we want to create an inspirational, inclusive learning and working environment, celebrating the diversity of our University community in our everyday conversations.  Our student population is already incredibly diverse and we want to ensure this is reflected across our colleague profile as well.

To help you, we have wide ranging colleague support networks, promoting awareness events throughout the year and giving you the opportunity to share your experiences with others. Our extensive facilities reflect our continuing commitment to support the student and colleague experience and the beliefs and values you bring to our community.

There is a varied benefits package available through ‘MySalford’ where you can tailor your benefits to suit your own lifestyle.  The role will be based on the University of Salford campus.  We do consider requests for flexible working on hiring. For most roles, the following types of flexibility are usually possible: job share, flexible hours, an element of working from home, compressed hours.

However you identify, whatever your pathway has been to get here, come and join us at the University of Salford where we are all proud to belong -  watch us in action here!
