School of Arts & Media – Lecturer in Games and Interactive Media

A bit about the School of Arts, Media & Creative Technology…

We're one of the leading centres for practice-based education in the creative disciplines within the North West. We are the heart of creativity in Salford, offering a programme of events that encourage engagement with our staff, students, industry and the local community.

Our £55 million New Adelphi flagship building offers a diverse range of spaces and equipment to suit all creative requirements and we are also the only UK university to have a campus at MediaCityUK - an international media hub with neighbours such as the BBC and ITV , with industry-standard facilities that offers a professional environment for you to teach and our students to learn.

The school has a strong legacy of successful alumni across a range of fields, including actors, stand-up comedians, musicians, journalists and designers.

So what will the role involve?

  • Contribute to our thinking and be challenging on how Salford can transform the way it addresses equity disparities, embraces diversity and becomes more inclusive
  • Foster the development of an inclusive community, using teaching approaches which encourage inclusivity, working in partnership with students to improve their sense of belonging, diversifying the curriculum and using approaches to inclusive assessment to close the award gap
  • Daily activities can be found in the Job Description

What’s in it for you?

With over 200 languages spoken across Greater Manchester, we want to create an inspirational, inclusive learning and working environment, celebrating the diversity of our University community in our everyday conversations.  Our student population is already incredibly diverse and we want to ensure this is reflected across our colleague profile as well.

To help you, we have wide ranging colleague support networks, promoting awareness events throughout the year and giving you the opportunity to share your experiences with others. Our extensive faith centre facilities reflect our continuing commitment to support the student and colleague experience and the beliefs and values you bring to our community.

There is a varied benefits package available through ‘MySalford’ where you can tailor your benefits to suit your own lifestyle – everything from additional annual leave, savings on High Street shopping, travel discounts as well as health and wellbeing support. To maintain work/life balance, when appropriate you can connect to work from wherever you are. Whether it’s our Peel Park Campus, MediaCityUK or your couch at home, the tools are there for you to do your best work. Flexibility on working from home is supported where possible, however the role will be based on the University of Salford campus.

This opportunity will close on 4th December and first stage interviews will be held on 14th and 15th December.   Please ensure you have uploaded your CV and a personal statement before this date in order to be considered for the role.

However you identify, whatever your pathway has been to get here, come and join us at the University of Salford where we are all proud to belong -  watch us in action here!
