The University of Salford’s forward-thinking approach has powered progress for 125 years. Today, our university community encompasses over 26,000 students, 2,800 staff and 200,000 alumni from all around the world. Our unstoppable institution is bolstered by countless industry initiatives and innovative research programmes, building a thriving education community at the heart of a powerful and connected region.  Under the leadership of our new Vice-Chancellor, Professor Nic Beech, our refreshed mission focusses on building prosperity and equity, enabling healthier living, improving the environment and sustainability, and developing cutting edge creative and innovative practice.

This is a unique moment in the history of Salford. Despite sector headwinds we are financially strong and continue to grow and invest in our people and physical resources. However, there is work to be done as we look to recapture our academic strengths in keeping with our heritage as a 1960s Robbins’ university and develop a contemporary education and research offer which is instinctively multi-disciplinary and uses collaborative advantage for the benefit of all our communities.

With nearly 5,000 students on campus, and 200 colleagues from around the world, Salford Business School is a vibrant international community who value our commitment to innovation, and deep-rooted ties with industry. We aspire to foster the next generation of leaders with a vision of innovative and entrepreneurial leadership that integrates people, values and digital to meet the challenges and opportunities of a sustainable future.

As a member of Salford Business School's leadership team our Associate Dean Academic will provide school leadership as well as contributing to interdisciplinary working and collaboration. The School is on a positive trajectory and in this role you will deliver strategic initiatives to ensure our student success and develop our portfolio in line with the ambitions of the University. You will put students at the heart of all you do and will consider opportunities for partnership working and interdisciplinary, real-world academic practice.

The role requires an academic leader who brings evidence of success in innovation in academic practice and experience of enhancing the students' learning experience.  We are looking for leaders who are compassionate, committed to equity, diversity and inclusion and whose natural approach to delivery is one of shared endeavour.
