Overview 

We are a friendly team currently looking for a new colleague to work with us in supporting the research function of our school. The Administration Assistant will be fundamental to the function of our school, performing a range of administrative tasks to support our academic research team.  We are looking for someone who is organised, confident and able to work under pressure with excellent communication and admin skills.

Main Responsibilities

  • To provide efficient and effective administrative support for research leaders in the School of Science, Engineering & Environment, using a range of Microsoft 365 applications in particular Excel 

 

  • To assist in the preparation of the research data for projects such as REF and KEF using existing or building new data tracking tools as appropriate

 

  • To support the administrative management of PGR support matters

 

  • To generate ad-hoc financial reports and provide financial data as required, to assist with business planning and budget monitoring

 

  • To arrange and service committee meetings in support of transparent communication across the school pertaining to School research matters

 

  • To work with colleagues to promote research, coordinate events and develop digital promotional materials for online publication
