Do you enjoy creating content that helps people? We’re looking for two colleagues who love crafting effective communications that help our students become successful – no matter what success looks like for them – to join our Student Communications and Engagement team in brand-new roles. You’ll enjoy this role if you’re creative, love working with multiple communication channels and you’re willing to try new ways of connecting with students to make their lives better. Read on for more detail about the role and working at the University of Salford.

A bit about Marketing, Recruitment and External Relations…

In the Directorate of Marketing, Recruitment and External Relations, we are responsible for the core range of activities that promote and engage with our external environment and stakeholders. This includes both prospective and current students, businesses and our local community. Made up of Marketing and Communications, Student Recruitment and Outreach and External Relations teams, we work together to plan and deliver key activities that support the University’s ambitions for growth, diversity and an increased profile.

The Student Communications & Engagement team works closely with student-facing services, including Student Experience & Support colleagues, championing the student experience and ensuring that our students are at the heart of everything we do.

So, what will the role involve?

This role will include content creation and review, analysing engagement through student-facing channels and proactive communications. This includes story generation and developing networks within the University to support communications campaign planning and delivery.

You may be allocated to support certain services, schools and areas of the University, but will be required to support all activities of the Student Communications and Engagement team and work with the wider Student Success, Administration and Support Services Directorate.

A key element of all our roles is to contribute to our thinking and be challenging on how Salford can transform the way it addresses equity disparities, embraces diversity and becomes more inclusive.

If you fancy a chat about the role or have some questions then please contact Rowena Grant, Student Communications & Engagement Manager at R.D.Grant@salford.ac.uk.

Please note the vacancy closes at 11:55pm on the above date.

 What’s in it for you?

With over 200 languages spoken across Greater Manchester, we want to create an inspirational, inclusive learning and working environment, celebrating the diversity of our University community in our everyday conversations. Our student population is already incredibly diverse, and we want to ensure this is reflected across our colleague profile as well.

To help you, we have wide ranging colleague support networks, promoting awareness events throughout the year and giving you the opportunity to share your experiences with others. Our extensive faith centre facilities reflect our continuing commitment to support the student and colleague experience and the beliefs and values you bring to our community.

There is a varied benefits package available through ‘MySalford’ where you can tailor your benefits to suit your own lifestyle – everything from additional annual leave, savings on High Street shopping, travel discounts as well as health and wellbeing support. The main place of work for this role is on our Peel Park Campus but to maintain work/life balance you can also connect to work remotely for some of the time, in agreement with your line manager.

However you identify, whatever your pathway has been to get here, come and join us at the University of Salford where we are all proud to belong -  watch us in action here!
