Salford Business School has around 130 staff and circa. 4,000 learners in Salford, with as many again studying with our regional and overseas partners. Salford Business School is at the forefront of expanding opportunity and access in higher education. We deliver across a range of subject areas and are currently expanding provision through new partnerships and a developing portfolio of higher and degree apprenticeships.

Salford Business School is now looking for a Lecturer in Accounting to join a team of experienced accounting teaching staff. The candidate must be able to teach across the accounting teaching programme. It would also be advantageous if they had a specialism to offer with the range of specialisms including but not exclusive to financial accounting and reporting, corporate finance, taxation and audit and assurance. We are also keen to hear from anyone who may have experience in accounting software training and an awareness of current trends in accounting and finance including around fintech, data analytics,  social and environmental accounting and artificial intelligence. Teaching experience is an essential, a professional accounting qualification a desirable requirement.

So, what will the role involve?

  • Design teaching material and deliver either across a range of modules, set, mark and assess work
  • Supervise student projects, including, where appropriate, PGT, field trips and placements

 

  • Identify areas where current provision is in need of revision or enhancement

 

  • Extend, transform and apply knowledge acquired from scholarship to learning, research and where appropriate external activities
