A bit about our Student and Academic Support team…

In the Directorate of Student and Academic Support, we are responsible for the core range of activities that support the student journey from the point of application through to registration. This includes both prospective and current students, businesses, and our local community. Admissions sits within this directorate together with UKVI compliance, academic progression, timetabling, student information and records.  The directorate also has dedicated teams focussing on student data & systems, and information and analysis. The directorate teams work together to plan and deliver key activities that support the University’s ambitions for growth, diversity and an increased profile.

The Admissions Team is a busy team whose core focus is managing relationships with prospective students and processing applications from across a diverse offering of study. We work in partnership with a wide range of people across the University in the delivery our work to reach planned student numbers. This is a new post within the team, and an excellent opportunity for the right person to shape the post to maximise the impact for our applicants.

So, what will the role involve?

We’re looking for a committed, energetic and enthusiastic team member with a background in higher education and customer services. The role focuses on the delivery of services to applicants, including monitoring of applications for home and international students, management of applicant communications via CRM, and development of processes to maintain service levels and customer service. The role will have a strong focus on leading on, and being responsible for, constant change and improvement of business processes to support the service, working closely with our CRM team.  The post-holder will be an experienced team leader with a good knowledge of home and international applicant markets and the different demands that these bring.  Admissions work with a wide range of different teams, maintaining key relationships with Marketing and Recruitment teams, CRM as well as our academic teams across the institution.

If you’re an experienced and committed people manager who’s passionate about the applicant experience and keen to make a difference to our future students then we want to hear from you. As with all roles in Student Administration, you will have the opportunity to get involved in a wide range of different activities alongside your core role – it’ll be a busy and varied post for the right person.
