This particular opportunity sits within Art and Design.

In this role of Technical Assistant for Digital Print we are looking for a confident, self-motivated, patient, team player that can work in a fast paced and challenging environment.

Your outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, and exceptional organisational skills will shine through as you support and engage with our students.

Self-development will be a top priority as you stay one step ahead in the design industry.

What can you expect to be doing in this role?

  • Working predominantly with the Photographic courses (but also a range of others within the school) as a Technical Assistant you will provide both technical and practical support to teaching and learning activities, supporting a range of creative techniques, skills and methods in both traditional and digital technologies that are current within the photographic printing sphere. This will assist in the manufacture and production of student printing projects to industry standards. This support will be across a range of modules, levels and programmes but primarily around the photographic programs (Photography, Fashion Image Making and Styling).
  • Liaise with academic and other technical staff regarding learning support for modules, student projects, shows and exhibitions and organising the necessary resources in the support of them.
  • Assist with maintenance of the facility, associated studios and equipment and contribute to the high levels of Health and Safety within the area. Also assist with the ordering and management of consumables and equipment.
  • Contribute to our thinking and be challenging on how Salford can transform the way it addresses equity disparities, embraces diversity and becomes more inclusive.

Applicants should be aware that the post although based mostly in the New Adelphi Building, may involve working at multiple university buildings and campuses if required.

This is a term-time only, full time (1.0 fte), permanent opportunity.

Starting salary is £22,331 per annum pro rata.
